Riverside County Suicide Prevention Coalition (SPC) Sub-Committee Registration Form
Thank you for your interest in joining the amazing work being done by our sub-committees. Below you will find a brief description of each sub-committee's objectives to assist you in deciding which group is the best fit.   1.  Upstream - Promote a culture free of stigma and discrimination. Increase connectedness between people, family members, and community. Increase help-seeking behaviors and promote messages of resiliency, recovery and hope.
  2. Engaging Schools - Assist schools with the implementation of trauma-informed practices and programs that foster social emotional growth. Develop and implement standardized suicide risk assessment tools and prevention plans. 
  3. Higher Education - Assist schools with the implementation of trauma-informed practices, as well as programs that increase mental health and suicide awareness, and promote increased help seeking behaviors amongst college youth and staff.
  4. Intervention - Deliver a continuum of crisis services across the county and evaluate services to identify gaps in care. Create safe environments by reducing access to lethal means and develop professional competence to promote community safety.
  5. Postvention - Develop and implement Postvention team(s), implement survivor’s support groups, and provide trainings to clinical staff on complicated grief and bereavement to better serve suicide loss survivors.
  6.  Effective Messaging & Communications * - Increase safe reporting of suicide and healthy social media use. Integrate best practices into public campaigns and communication strategies about suicide. We are specifically looking for Public information officers, journalists, media, etc. members.  
  7. Trainings * - Develop and/or coordinate trainings to increase effectiveness of suicide risk screenings, assessments and trauma-informed practices. Trainings to support identification and intervention to effective care. We are looking for gatekeeper trainings certified individuals in ASIST, safeTALK, and Mental Health First Aid. Please email pei@ruhealth.org, if you are interested in joining, along with your trainer credentials. 
  8. Measuring and Sharing Outcomes-*  Develop strategies and effective methods for sharing data across different departments and agencies. Please email pei@ruhealth.orgIf you have work experience in research and evaluation.
