Thrival Academy: Indy is an Innovation Network School in IPS that is a global education and humanities focused one-year school open to high school juniors in IPS that includes a 3-month immersion phase abroad. All program costs are covered, including travel expenses.

FAQsWhat does it cost?Just like all public schools, Thrival Academy: Indy is free! There are no program fees and all of your international costs are covered, including flights, lodging, and food.
Will I get behind in school?No, Thrival Academy: Indy is a school in IPS and you will enroll in a full year of courses required for graduation. These courses include geometry, pre-calculus, or algebra II; ethnic literature; US history; and environmental science. Students will end each semester with at least 7 credits.
What happens during my 12th grade year?You will return to your original high school to complete 12th grade and graduate with your class.
Where do you travel? Is it safe?In 2019-2020 school year, we will travel to Thailand for the third consecutive year. We partner with a student travel organization- Rustic Pathways- which brings over 30 years of experience with international student travel safety and risk management.
What about my current career pathway?Because of the nature of our school, students will not be able to participate in the 2-year career pathway.
Can I take a foreign language course?Students will be able to take foreign language through IPS's online learning platform based on availability. We cannot guarantee that students will be placed in their desired language courses.
