May is Mental Health Awareness Month and in recognition of this the Office of Student Support Services & Family Engagement of Skaneateles Central School District is sponsoring two presentations for parents, students & the community. May 19th 6pm-7pm Session 1:  Warning Signs, Strategies & Resources: This session will include (but not limited to) warning signs and how that can lead to risky behavior, strategies to use at home & resources to help. Presenter Shannon Kelley is a psychiatric nurse practitioner, licensed clinical social worker, registered nurse and a credentialed alcohol & substance abuse counselor. Ms. Kelley is full time at Upstate Medical University-Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program while also working within the hospital on the adult behavioral health unit. *

May 24th 6pm-7pm Session 2: Topic- What Would You Miss? A candid conversation about preventing and talking about suicide. Without feeling worthy, you lose hope. Knowing that others find you worthy open the door to much needed hope. How to start a gentle conversation about a difficult subject- suicide. Presenter AnnMarie Giannino is an advocate, works for National Alliance on Mental Illness NYC (NAMI), and is the founder of What Would You Miss. Ms. Giannino was recently featured on 9WSYR interview about the topic of suicide. *
