USA Climbing invites experienced competition lead belayers* to apply for a position on a belay team for 2024 National and Championship competitions. Dates for upcoming events may be found at
usaclimbing.org. All dates and locations are tentative; updates as information changes.
Interested belayers must submit this form. By submitting this form, you are expressing interest in lead belaying* at a National, IFSC, or Championship competition. You will be required to be a USA Climbing volunteer member and complete USA Climbing volunteer and Host Facility waivers.
A USA Climbing Head Belayer will select belay teams and develop the event Belay Plan.
Competitions may have mandatory belay checks with a USA Climbing Head Belayer or Host Facility staff. All competitions may have mandatory pre-competition or pre-round belay meetings with a USAC Head Belayer or Jury President.
Your contact information will be included in the USA Climbing belayer roster. Belayers may be recorded during the course of their service for training purposes. Videos may be posted to unrestricted shared drives.
