The Mars Generation Project Proposal for Space Camp Scholarship Application
The Mars Generation is a nonprofit organization that seeks to inspire and educate people about the importance of STEM education and human space exploration to the future of humanity. Our entire program is based on outreach and building community. We developed the Student Space Ambassador Leadership Program to provide support and encouragement to students in sharing their passion for STEM and space exploration with their own communities, including school, online, church, youth organization or any other place where they find friends, support and encouragement.

Our Space Camp Scholars have a unique opportunity to experience something most students only dream of, attending Space Camp USA and experiencing what it is like to train like an astronaut. As an opportunity that so few students get, one requirement of becoming a TMG scholar is to take what they learn at Space Camp and share it with their own communities.

Abigail "Astronaut Abby" Harrison founded The Mars Generation based on her own first experience at Space Camp. Abby, herself, attended Space Camp with the help of another local nonprofit. Her desire to share what she learned at Camp, and more importantly, share her commitment to space exploration.

This remains a requirement of our Space Camp Scholars, to create a way to share their experience, too.

Below, you will find instructions to guide you through the process of creating A PROPOSAL on HOW YOU WILL SHARE YOUR SPACE CAMP experience with your community and submitting it for consideration. This is a community outreach project, not a science fair project. Community can be defined as your school or other schools, after school programs, religious groups, clubs, organization memberships, online or whatever constitutes a group of people who form a supportive environment that you are a meaningful participant.

Proposals will be evaluated and scored by a selection committee using a rubric of criteria. Your job is to prepare and present the best proposal you can. Spelling and grammar will count toward your score, as well as having clear and concise sentences and presenting your ideas in a way that is easily understood by evaluators.

This project you propose must be completed within 9 months after your return from Space Camp as a TMG scholar. Please make sure it is something within your means and capability to complete.

Do you have a project advisor who has agreed to help you complete the project? This can be a mentor, teacher, parent, clergy member, or another adult that you trust who will help you.
