We are continuing this year with our Citizen Science, Garden Science, and Leadership Program to further develop our mission of fostering a creative, cooperative and community based environment.
Through Citizen Science and Garden Programing, teachers will be facilitating leadership skills emphasizing intrinsic motivation, self-efficacy, problem solving, healthy risk taking and teamwork. This Program will run on all Late Start Days (10:35 am-2:35 pm) throughout the entire 2018-19 school year.
All LES staff, faculty, students and volunteers will be participating in this program on our Late Start Day’s for the 2018-19 school year. Students will be divided into small groups and will rotate through teacher-guided stations on campus, at the Redstone Museum, at Lavern Johnson, Bohn, and Sandstone Parks.
Please complete this electronic permission slip, allowing your child to participate. THIS FORM GIVES PERMISSION FOR YOUR STUDENT TO PARTICIPATE ON ALL LATE START DAYS. In addition, please check the appropriate box and include your contact information if you are interested in volunteering. Volunteers will be needed for the entire time frame, transitioning students between activities and participating in all teacher-guided activities. Once you have returned this form and indicated that you would like to volunteer, an email will be sent to you with all necessary information. Parent Volunteers will be essential to the success of this program.
