Engagement interns enhance the diversity and creativity of programs on Grounds that enable students to connect to the Jewish community, Jewish tradition and Israel.

According to Hillel, engagement is the act of reaching others, getting to know them and connecting them to relevant and meaningful opportunities. The Brody Jewish Center is looking for a cohort of innovative, enthusiastic leaders to serve as community organizers and create a welcoming atmosphere for Jewish students at UVa.

    Available Positions Include:

    • 1 Social Justice Engagement Intern • 2 Birthright Engagement Intern • 3 Greek Community Engagement Intern • 2 First-Year Engagement Intern • 2 General Engagement Intern For information about responsibilities & expectations of each intern, please see the following page.

    Qualified Applicants Are:

    • The social networker among their peers, connecting new friends to one another and making everyone feel welcome • Motivated to take initiative and ensure follow through • Organized and demonstrate time management • Great listeners • Willing to step out of your comfort zone and try new things

    What You'll Get:

    • A budget for unique programming & coffee dates with uninvolved students who share your passion • Professional development, mentoring and skill-building opportunities • A $300 stipend toward a Jewish experience, such as participation in ASB, Jewish books, a trip to Israel or a learning opportunity.
