A group of strong community leaders on the PFTP Board who are willing to volunteer their time, ideas, and networks is essential to sustaining the organization. Board members are responsible for governing the organization as well as coordinating day-to-day operations.
Key responsibilities include fundraising, strategic planning, financial oversight, organizational development, and community relations.
- This is a volunteer position.- The Board meets once per month and all members are expected to attend. Board meetings are currently held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, 6:00–8:00 pm. It may be possible to change the day or time if necessary to accommodate incoming members’ schedules. - Board members are also expected to attend monthly Sub-Committee Meetings.- In addition to monthly meetings, members spend time planning and coordinating various aspects of the organization. - Board members are expected to provide financial support to the organization, in whatever amount is comfortable. - Board term is two years.
We are looking for Board Members with experience in any of the following areas:- Past Board Experience- Nonprofit Management - Development and Fundraising- Finance and Accounting- Technology- Volunteer Management- Working with Diverse Populations- Participation in Past PFTP Events- Food Production and Food Safety- Fruit Tree Care and Maintenance
