Attention Artists!

The Amherst Center Cultural District (ACCD) is transforming downtown Amherst into an art gallery.
You are invited to showcase your works of art throughout the town center in windows on streets, walkways, and municipal areas in downtown Amherst. Installations will be on view for 3 months, from June through Labor Day Weekend.

Businesses, property owners and property managers will host artists in their windows to help us create a dynamic showcase of the work of area artists while many galleries and museums remain closed. Display areas vary in size and shape. ACCD can provide easels, blocks, and tension rods to help support art displays, but you are also welcome to provide your own installation materials.

The ACCD aims to include work from as many artists as possible, as long as display space is available. All decisions regarding which art is displayed in which windows is at the discretion of the ACCD committee. These decisions are informed by the installation needs of each artwork and the display infrastructure in place at each site. The ACCD committee reserves the right to decline work that is not suited for this exhibition. You will be contacted after the review process on the status of your submission.

We'll use maps, signage, and social media to help visitors connect with participating artists's websites and social media accounts. There will also be space for artist statements and contact information alongside window displays.

This project is funded in part by a Massachusetts Cultural Council's Cultural District grant to help revitalize town centers impacted by the restrictions of the pandemic.
