PLEASE NOTE THE NEW DATES AND LOCATION FOR CAMP AND CONDITIONING!!!
Happy summer to you all! I hope this form finds you well, and I hope that summer break has brought nothing but good times and relaxation so far. The Ben Holt Girl's volleyball season is rapidly approaching, and preseason summer events will be starting up soon as well as our regular season.
This year's preseason summer camp will be the fourth week of July, from Monday July 22, to Friday July 26. Camp will begin at 9 AM each day, and end at 3 PM, and will be held in the Langston Hughes Gymnasium. Like last year, I will be running the camp myself, with the help of our returning JV head coach, Morgan Sexton, and some former BHA volleyball alumni and current boys volleyball players. I have found that outside organizations in the past simply have not provided the experience I desire for our athletes, and I can run our camp how I would like, for half the cost as well. The cost for our preseason summer camp is $200 per player, for the week. I try to make this camp affordable compared to other summer camps, as I want to make it as accessible as possible for all interested. This cost will provide the athlete with daily lunch catered from a food establishment, a custom camp t-shirt, and an overall phenomenal experience as they prepare for the season ahead. If you plan on attending camp, and mark the box on this form, I will send an email to the email you provide with camp details at the beginning of July!!!
Conditioning will be held the third week of July (7/15-7/19) and the week after our summer camp has concluded (7/29-8/2). The tentative time for conditioning will be 7-8:30 PM daily, unless otherwise noted by myself in advance. Conditioning may be held indoors or outdoors, so I ask that those attending bring gym shoes, and shoes to run on a turf soccer field. I will always opt to run conditioning indoors to avoid the heat, but that will not be possible at times, so please prepare for both. Conditioning will be held at Ben Holt, either in the gym or on the soccer field.
While camp and conditioning are NOT mandatory, I HIGHLY encourage any athlete interested in trying out to attend BOTH. These events have proven year after year to prepare our athletes at the highest level, and drastically increase the athlete's odds of making it onto the girls volleyball team. Athletes who attend just one, either camp or conditioning, will still experience an advantage coming into tryouts that those who do not attend either do not have.
I am looking forward to an exciting season of volleyball this year, and continuing to develop an ever growing program here at Ben Holt. Last year was extremely successful, and I hope to continue building on this success. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me via email and I will respond within 24 hours or less. Thank you, and I hope to see you all this summer! (Please only fill out this form once!)
