Intro to Change-making Certification

The Intro to Change-Making Certificate is an accreditation for youth innovators, acknowledging those who actively participate in YIC programs and innovation challenges to develop themselves in the broader social/environmental innovation space. More details on earning your certificate are below.

  • Attend 2 Project Development Workshops: Ideation, Value Proposition, Market Research, Pitching, Systems Thinking and more.*
  • Attend 1 Inclusive Innovation Workshop: Indigenous Knowledge Systems, Environmental Justice, a Global Lens of Social Innovation, etc.*
  • Attend 1 Networking Event: Virtual Networking Workshops, Pop-up in-person meet-ups, Brave Spaces series*
  • Attend 1 Mentor or Office Hours Session: Meaningfully engage with an assigned mentor, pop-up mentors, or during office hours with the YIC Team*
  • Participate in YIC or a Similar Innovation Challenges: These include hackathons, accelerators programs, innovation competitions and similar opportunities to build up innovative ideas.
* If you almost completed these requirements from past participation at YIC events (such as our summer competition or Climate Change-Makers Challenge), please reach out as we will look to find alternative ways to help you in finishing relevant requirements, such as linking to video content or similar materials that are related in subject matter to something the YIC team may have offered.
