Job Title: Marketing Assistant (this could be either a virtual/remote position or an in-person role at our Fort Wayne, IN studio)
Job Description: The Marketing Assistant will work closely with the Creative Director to promote our goods to the retail and wholesale markets.
Overview: We are looking for a kind, energetic team member to help manage the multitude of marketing tasks that help keep our retail and wholesale stationery and gift business growing and thriving. This is an entry level position but we’re hoping to hire someone who wants to learn on the job and grow into a Marketing Director role with more autonomy and responsibility over time. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with a keen eye for detail, flexible but reliable and able to problem-solve and innovate.
Help to create and execute an editorial marketing calendar of email newsletters, blog posts and Instagram and Facebook posts, stories and reels
Help to create product and editorial images of new and existing products in our catalog
Help to create marketing collateral like postcards, catalogs, packaging and inserts
Primary Skills and Tools:
Must be a clear, direct, careful communicator
Comfortable with Adobe Photoshop, Canva
Familiar with video editing apps or software of your choice
Other tools we use (can learn on the job but it will be great if the Assistant is already familiar with these) include Trello, Airtable, Later for social scheduling, Adobe Illustrator
This will be a role that changes over time and with the seasons depending on our needs, but the following is a list of the types of tasks this job will include.
Digital Marketing Assistance:
Proofread, upload and schedule blog posts
Help create and schedule social posts by choosing photos from our image banks and writing captions using our brand guide and editorial calendar
Proofread, upload and schedule newsletters in our email providers
Additional Digital Marketing Tasks:
Edit videos for social media and product descriptions
Pin to Pinterest
Create blog posts and graphics and design email newsletters in Canva using our templates
Edit editorial photos in Photoshop for our sales channels and social media
Format product silhouette images for our sales and marketing channels in Canva and Photoshop
Design marketing postcards and catalogs in Canva using our templates
Manage signups to our newsletters
Maintain automated email marketing flows
Track and manage giveaways on instagram and at retail markets
Coordinate over email with local makers we partner with to do giveaways
Organize images in Dropbox
Make updates to marketing images, announcements and collections on our website
Pay: $13/hour during training, regular starting rate to be negotiated depending on experience.
Time off: Time off will be arranged on a case-by-case basis as needed within reason.
