We invite your assistance in a collaborative effort aimed at gathering behavioral health resources to support Asian American (AA), Native Hawaiian (NH), and Pacific Islander (PI) communities affected by hate incidents. Together, we will build the online AA, NH, and PI Healing, Empowerment, Awareness, & Resilience Toolbox (HEART).
In response to the increase in hate incidents over the last few years, we recognize the urgent need for accessible and effective resources to aid those navigating the impacts of discrimination and violence. As part of this initiative, we are seeking resources across various domains, including but not limited to:
Educational materials for educators and school administrators;
Supportive tools and guidance for individuals, families, caregivers, and youth;
Resources tailored to the needs of special segments of our communities, including elders;
Guidance for clinicians and mental health professionals, including intervention materials or program curricula;
Advocacy and media campaign opportunities to support communities impacted by AA, NH, and PI hate;
Databases and research studies about this issue.
You are welcome to complete this form multiple times if you have more than one resource to share. Please share with us any materials you wish to be part of this community toolbox by completing this survey.
The resources gathered will be reviewed for fit, compatibility and relevance; organized for ease of access; vetted among community members; and made publicly available on NAAPHIMHA’s website to ensure widespread access and support. This will not be a static entity, but rather a “living” toolbox to which we will add relevant resources as they become available. All toolbox resources will be clearly attributed or acknowledged.
The H.E.A.R.T. Toolbox for the AANHPI communities was developed through a public-private partnership of federal agencies, academic researchers, behavioral health practitioners, AANHPI advocates and associations, and people with lived experience. The Toolbox is hosted on the National Asian American Pacific Islander Mental Health Association website. It is a compendium of tools, strategies, and resources to assist communities in responding to anti-AANHPI hate and violence and maintaining a personal sense of safety and well-being
