Industry Tour | Hospitality, Culinary & Event Planning | 10.24.25
Please submit this form if you would like to participate in the American Cruise Lines Industry Tour & Downtown Walkabout with Chris Stangle to meet Local Chefs & Community Event Planners. This is for students who are interested in pursuing a career in hospitality, cruise ship operations, event planning, community outreach, culinary, and restaurant management.  This opportunity is scheduled for Friday, October 24 @ 8:15 am.

If this event has a limited participation capacity, priority will be given to juniors and seniors who sign up.  

Where to go:  Downtown Florence - NEW Tombigbee Parking Garage: 128 W Tombigbee St - We will meet at the corner of N Pine Street and W Tombigbee Street. 

Parking: You are welcome to parking in the parking garage or along the street. Please be advised the garage is cashless at a rate of $0.50 per hour, with a maximum daily rate of $4. The street parking only takes quarters or the park mobile app. 

Schedule: 
8:30 am - 9:30 am: Downtown Florence Walkabout with Chris Stange, Executive Director of the Downtown Florence Alliance. Chris has extensive experience in event planning (First Fridays Organizer) and working with the downtown businesses and restaurants. Chris will discuss careers in culinary, event planning and community outreach. He will also introduce us to the chefs of Jack's Bistro and Odette.

Following the walkabout, we will DRIVE TO MCFARLAND PARK.

9:45 am - 11:30 am: American Cruise Lines Ship Tour - We will tour the large ship and meet various staff and industry professionals who live and work on the cruise ship. You will learn about careers in ship operations, hospitality, culinary and more!

What time to be there:  8:15 am - Do not be late!

What time event ends: 11:30 am

What to wear:  NO shorts, Long pants required, jeans with NO holes and a shirt with sleeves -- NO hats please

Transportation:  Provide your own transportation to and from the event. 

Paperwork:  Remember you will need to fill out a Job Shadow Permission form and turn it in AT LEAST 2 DAYS PRIOR from your school to receive an excused absence from school.
