Thank you for taking time to learn about some of the programs Island Lake PTA leads and the volunteer opportunites that go with them.  Please check off all the areas that interest you and you will be contacted with more information specific to those opportunties as our needs arise. You many choose to participate at that time but there is no obligation. Thank you!

Grades of Students
Apex Fun Run
Apex Fun Run is our largest fundraiser of the year and so fun! Opportunities to help include decorating Island Lake and/or Snail Lake, and helping on race day with shirt marking and handing out water.
Book Fair
We hold two book fairs per year. Volunteer opportunities include set up and/or take down, and shifts to help staff the sale.
Box Tops for Education
Box Tops help us earn around $2000 each year! Help us set up contests and incentives to increase participation!
Carnival
Carnival is our largest school event of the year and requires help planning leading up to the carnival as well as the night of the event. Planning help includes setting a theme, communications, games, prizes and set up.
Chess Club
Volunteers are needed to staff and organize chess club for over 100 students.
Gardening/Green Team
PTA maintains the gardens around the school and we could use your help in keeping them looking great. Volunteers would help enhance the grounds around the school building.
International Night
International Night is a community event. Students and their families sign up to represent countries with informational displays. Volunteers would help with decorating, staffing and set up.
Kindergarten Center
If you have a kindergartener or would just like to work with our youngest students, opportunities include bingo night, book fair, graduation and more.
Run with the Wolves
Every spring we host our Run with the Wolves 5K and Fun Run. This event promotes health and community building!
Science Fair
This great school/community event is held in February and organized by science specialist Mrs. Bergantine and sponsored by PTA. This is a non-competitive science fair with loads of learning and fun!  
Spirit Wear
Volunteers would help with selecting and distributing clothing, water bottles, lanyards, etc to promote school spirit.
Staff Appreciation
Island Lake provides food and treats to teachers and staff periodically during the year. Volunteers would help the program chair coordinate and set up these events.
Talent Show
Help us bring back this great event! Volunteers with work together to coordinate acts and organization for the event.
Yearbook
Help the program chair in a variety of ways including taking photos during the school year or designing pages.
