Overview:Pay Our Interns (POI) is a bipartisan, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that advocates for an increase in the amount of paid internships in our government, for-profit, and nonprofit sectors. POI serves as a research platform, advocacy guide, and internship database for students and young professionals across the country. Since its founding over a year ago, POI has made national headlines for its work to increase paid internships. To date we have gotten over seven Senators to launch a paid internship program, released the first ever report detailing which members of Congress pay and don’t pay, helped pass legislation and have been featured in two dozen outlets including The Washington Post, The Atlantic, USA Today and Roll Call.
