ATTENDANCE
No shows for scheduled meetings is a consideration for anyone thinking about being a part of the AARM Study Group and should be considered before joining the group. Too many no shows can cause a change in status from an officially trained AARM therapist to a practitioner auditing the training. The cohort grows in interdependence as the training progresses. Lagging behind the group because of missed meetings can negatively impact the morale of the group for those making this process a priority. This means that if it is not possible to attend an event, the group leader is to be notified beforehand. Reasons for missing groups should be substantial.

Missing three consecutive sessions or five sessions spread over the six- month period for the training program means that the trainee has placed themselves in a course auditing role. Auditing the course means that you will not be eligible to be listed in the AARM website as someone who has received the basic training. Also, you will not be able to count the Basic AARM Training module (1 of 3 modules) as qualifying for certification in the AARM.

MANAGING DISTANT LEARNING RELATIVE TO ELECTRONIC PRACTICUMS
A subject is needed to fill the role of client for the electronic meet ups. In each virtual Zoom meeting, two trainees will recruit a practicum partner to be able to practice and demonstrate an AARM method. Only two trainees for each electronic meet up need to have a practicum partner as a subject. This duty can be rotated throughout the Study Group.

THE WEEKLY ALTERATION TO PRACTICUMS
Every other week will be case conferencing. This feature is important and the reason for the requirement to have an ongoing caseload. The case conference weeks rely upon a willingness for the Study Group members to bring cases to the forum. If there are no cases to present, then the case conferencing every-other-week format will be suspended. To maximize the experience and to receive maximum input and get your moneys worth, then bringing cases to these in between meetings is necessary. With the absence of these case conferencing meetings, the learning process will be significantly diluted.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS AND CONSTRUCTIVE INPUT
Trainees will be expected to blend their established clinical skill set within new interventions of the AARM. This experience may be akin to what it has felt like to have one’s written words critiqued by an academic professor. This is not the kind of training where a practitioner can expect to offer justifications to keep doing what has been the routine practice in talk therapy before joining the group. All members of the study group have ample opportunities to learn the scientific reasons for considering change and the time to assimilate these differences. Feeling insulted due to redirection of the clinical flow is not cause to request a refund.

READING ASSIGNMENTS ARE REQUIRED
Reading within the neurobiological literature is important to mastery of the AARM . The literature that matters and is relevant to the AARM includes the neurobiology of personal interaction. Learning the AARM process requires more than can be impart in a training session, even by the best trainer. My manuscript, The Sensation of Discover, covers a lot of the relevant literature and will be part of the required reading. This manuscript has taken relevant neurobiological literature and applied it to the AARM saving the student the time to seek out this information interspersed through an expansive literature.

VIDEO RECORDINGS
A video recording of an AARM session is not needed for the Basic AARM training. Videos are required for the Advanced Training or certification track.

CONSULTATIONS
Virtual or telephonic consultations with the AARM originator, Peter Cummings, carries an hourly rate of $150.00, to be paid at the time of the appointment as a separate charge from the tuition.
