Telling Our Story: AANHPI Youth Leadership Research Project Application
The Girls Leadership Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Youth Research Council is currently working on a research project. We are exploring the following question: Does being a part of AANHPI communities influence and/or shape leadership in AANHPI girls and gender expansive youth? By sharing your story, you will be helping us answer this question to learn more about how to support leadership development among AANHPI girls and gender-expansive youth.

We welcome responses from everyone! We are especially hoping to hear from the following underrepresented groups: Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders, Central Asians, immigrant youth, gender expansive or transgender/gender non-conforming folks, and folks living/lived in rural areas.

We are asking folks to support by:
  1. Interviewing [$25 compensation]: Being interviewed about your experience as an AANHPI youth. Interviews would take 30-60 minutes over Zoom and you would receive $25 as compensation. You would also receive the interview questions beforehand to prepare. There are no right or wrong responses to these questions.
  2. Photos and journaling [$60 compensation]: Sharing photos and journaling about your experience as an AANHPI youth. You would take photos in response to 12 questions and telling us a little about what those photos mean to you with some written journal entries. We estimate this would take about 3-5 hours and you would receive $60 as compensation. There are no right or wrong responses to these questions.
If you are interested, please complete the questions below and we will reach out to you soon. All information collected will remain confidential.
