The South Asian Awareness Network is proud to present our annual social justice conference Ignite: Fueling Bonds, Catalyzing Change. Our theme this year aims to empower our attendees to dismantle the physical and social barriers within the South Asian community and beyond in order to create sustainable change through meaningful relationships.

This year, we will be holding 4 distinct Workshops and a Keynote Speech that address various contemporary social justice issues in the sphere of our theme. At the end of SAANference, we will be hosting a formal where you can show up in your South Asian cultural attire for refreshments, music, and lots of dancing! SAANference will be February 9th and 10th in the Michigan Union. The schedule is as follows:

February 9th

Workshop 1: 5:00pm-6:30pm in Pendleton at the Michigan Union

Workshop 2: 7:00pm-8:30pm in Pendleton at the Michigan Union

February 10th

Keynote Speech: 11:00am in Pendleton at the Michigan Union

Lunch: 12:00pm

Workshop 3: 2:00pm-3:30pm in Anderson at the Michigan Union

Workshop 4: 4:00pm - 5:30pm in Anderson at the Michigan Union

Formal: 8:30pm-10:30pm in Pendleton at the Michigan Union

Formal Admissions will be granted to only those who either check in at 2 Workshops and the Keynote Speech OR check in at 3 Workshops. Each workshop will have various types of merch such as totebags, tshirts, stickers, etc, so we encourage everyone to show up to all! These are in limited supply and will be distributed at a first come basis.
