City of Groton Tagline Survey

Thank you for taking part in a brief survey for the City of Groton. 

As part of our two-year Strategic Communications Initiative, the City of Groton is working toward a well-developed and thoughtful brand that best reflects our community’s character. We need your help in developing an authentic brand that represents the community’s sentiment of the City’s past, present, and future. 

An authentic brand is a statement about the pride and appeal of our community to residents, businesses, and anyone interested in investing here. This brand will be incorporated into community projects and help the City of Groton communicate its value and distinguish itself in economic and community development opportunities. 


In this survey, you will be able to provide feedback for three brand concepts:

Concept 1 - Groton City: A Place to Grow.
This tagline communicates that the City of Groton provides an environment in which individuals and families have the space and resources to grow and create the lives of their choosing. This concept focuses on growth as a process of development and it’s correlation to economic (local businesses), community (resources and amenities), and social (one’s future and family structure) advancement.

Concept 2 - Groton City: History in the Making.
Many know of the deep-rooted history that comes with the City of Groton; from the Pequot Tribe, to the Battle at Fort Griswold, the “Submarine Capital of the world.” This concept pays tribute to not only the past, but the future, looking at the multitude of possibilities that are yet to come; the settlement and growth of family legacies; and new milestones reached by local businesses.   

Concept 3 - Groton City: Making Waves
Making Waves cultivates ideas of innovation and recreation while signifying the City’s coastal proximity. This concept also points to the significant impacts and impressions the City has made on economic and community development in Groton and Southeastern Connecticut.
