Who should fill out this form?
Please fill out this form if you would like to find out more about or volunteer with the Prevention of Social Isolation program. This program is available for all students to volunteer.
What is Preventing Social Isolation?
This is a volunteer opportunity with UACOMP CHIP Covid-19 Student Service Corps. Current partners include Sage Hospice and we are actively curating more facilities/experiences.
The goal of this program is connecting students with seniors living in hospice or nursing and assisted living facilities. During the current pandemic our seniors, already an isolated community, are more in need of companionship than ever. Loneliness is associated with poor mental and physical health and virtual visits with students can help meet the need for connection. Video conferencing will be used to safely bring students and seniors together during this COVID-19 pandemic.
I am in the process of identifying facilities to partner with and hope to have opportunities available as soon as possible. When this happens you will be receiving an email with more information, any site-specific requirements, and a new google sign-up.
Who should you contact for more information?
