    Volunteer Requirements for Bass Coast 2016

    TIME COMMITMENT: 21 hours of volunteer work in return for a ticket to the festival. Lush camping, festival perks and the music lineup are included. Volunteering is a great opportunity to meet new people, and participate in making the magic happen. DEPOSIT: A $293 volunteer deposit (ticket price+tax) is required within 7 days of your acceptance. The Deposit (less $10 processing fee) is only refundable upon completion of shifts assigned. AVAILABILITY: All volunteers must be available for all four festival dates July 8th-11th including Monday until 7pm.

    Important Dates 2016

    May 20: After this date the deposit deadline is shortened to 2 days. June 17: After this date any cancellations are non-transferable and non-refundable. July 6/7: Arrival Date for Volunteers and On-site Volunteer Orientations July 11: All Deposit Refunds must be picked up at the Volunteer Headquarters. If you are completing your shifts after July 11th, your Refund must be picked up at the end of your shift at the Volunteer Headquarters

    Volunteer Team Selection

    Please read through the Team Descriptions and select your top three choices below. SITE OPERATIONS This crew is responsible for providing tender loving care to the festival's stages, security checkpoints and campgrounds. You will be an amBASSador of Bass Coast, and will be able to explore most of the site grounds! Duties include: providing assistance and guidance to festival goers, keeping the site clean, and setting up stages. Depending on your availability and abilities your three shifts will be divided among the following teams: Parking, Green Team, Sound Set-up, Lighting Set-up or Drivers. Please note if you are interested in a specific role. FESTIVAL ADMINISTRATION For this team we are looking for applicants who possess strong organizational skills, practice clear communication, and are able to problem solve quickly. Ideally applicants will have some experience with money handling, record keeping, office procedures and/or personnel management. Depending on your availability and experience your shifts will be on one or two of the following teams: Gate Team, Head Office, Volunteer Center, Supply Center, or General Store. Please note if you are interested in a specific role. HOSPITALITY Note: Generally only applicants who have previously worked on this crew or have a recommendation will be selected. This team will take care of the talent lounge and campground. We are looking for applicants who possess great social and diplomatic skills. Duties include: Campground maintenance, setting up and tearing down tents, Bartending, stocking the Talent Lounge, and otherwise accommodating Talent needs. HARM REDUCTION This team is responsible for creating a safe and comfortable space for festival attendees who need a break from the party. It is recommended that applicants have previous experience with harm reduction or addictions counseling. Please specify if you have worked as a nurse or mental health practitioner. FIRST AID Please apply for this team if you have up-to-date First Aid certification in Levels, 1, 2 or 3, and have experience working in this field. We are also looking for Medical Health Professionals such as Doctors w/Advanced Life Support Training, Emergency Trained Nurses, Advanced Life Support Paramedics, Primary Care Paramedics.
