This event will outline the new General Data Protection Regulations which comes into force 25th May 2018 and which will impact businesses, chairties and voluntary groups.
The GDPR applies to any business or organisation working in the EU that handles personal information on individuals:
o Client, Customer or Beneficiaries
o Marketing (own customer base / 3rd party data)
o Employee Information (ie, Payroll)
Personal data is any data you hold about individuals (either in your business or outside) that can identify them, even if they are company email addresses. It could be data about customers, prospects, staff, volunteers, donors, suppliers... the list is endless. And it still applies post-Brexit.
Learning about what is in the GDPR and how it applies to your organisation is the first step to make it manageable.
