Poynter Leadership Academy for Diversity in Digital Media (2019)
The Poynter Leadership Academy for Diversity in Digital Media is a transformative, tuition-free leadership program to train journalists of color working in digital media to thrive, personally and professionally. This seminar is honest about the challenges for journalists of color in management roles. It also provides the connections, confidence and skills to overcome them.

The program is structured to encourage open, candid discussion and mentoring, and participants will walk away with not only strong leadership skills, but a built-in support system for the future. The weeklong seminar is designed for journalists from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds to learn the skills and strategy to thrive as leaders in today’s media culture.

Who Should Apply: Because of the small size of the class, the selection committee will give preference to emerging U.S.-based journalism leaders currently working in digital media who can demonstrate an aptitude and potential for leadership through current projects and references. We strongly encourage journalists of all diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds to apply.

Program Dates: October 13-18
Application Deadline: June 14 at midnight. EST.
* Please note you will only receive an on-screen confirmation when you submit your application. After the deadline, everyone will be notified of their application status.
