Higher Education Pedagogy: a Faculty Initiative
In Fall 2018 and Spring 2019, we will gather 12 - 15 University of Mary Washington educators for a series of discussions and practical labs to read, watch, and discuss historical, theoretical, and pedagogical foundations for our work in higher education. Our syllabus will be a sort of “desert island mixtape,” including non-fiction, documentary films, even comics, and ranging from classics (John Dewey, bell hooks, Seymour Papert) to curiosities (Virginia Woolf, Henry David Thoreau) to more contemporary choices (Sara Goldrick Rab, Rafranz Davis, Cathy N. Davidson).

Applications are due by June 30. We will notify participants no later than July 6. Our first meeting will be held the week of September 3.
