Hawai'i Commercial Kitchens
This program provides assistance to Hawai'i Island food businesses, including farms, restaurants, value-added producers, commercial kitchens and nonprofit organizations working in food systems that have been in operation since March 1st of 2020 and were negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.***

Services provided are free of charge for eligible recipients, and can include:

  • Permitting and Compliance
  • Commercial Kitchen Training
  • Personnel Management
  • Food Safety
  • HAACP Plans 
  • Monthly Workshops

Eligibility Verification
To verify eligibility each participating organization needs to provide:

1.) Proof of Business Registration in Hawai‘i County during COVID impact period:
 - A General Excise Tax (GET) license with Business Start Date prior to March 1st, 2020 with a business address located in Hawai‘i County.

2.) Proof of Food-Related Industry Classification
 - Any official document, filed with the appropriate authority, which identifies the entity’s North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes as starting with one of the following:
 - 111: Crop Production
 - 112: Animal Production and Aquaculture
 - 311: Food Manufacturing
 - 3121: Beverage Manufacturing
 - 4244: Grocery and Related Product Merchant Wholesalers
 - 445: Food and Beverage Retailers
 - 722: Food Services and Drinking Places

If you don't fall under one of these codes (or are a non-profit organization) you may still be eligible, but will need to provide food-related industry justification. Email anthony@hawaiicommercialkitchens.com with questions!
