1. Onsite sign-up location will be in Exhibit Hall 1+ 2 at the Austin Convention Center, Thursday March 16th from 12p-6p.
2. All contestants are allowed 30 seconds on stage for walk-on.
3. Keep it PG-13! No nudity, foul language, inappropriate themes, etc. If you have doubts or questions, contact SXSW directly.
4. Anyone in costume may enter the competition, but the contestant must be pre-judged to be eligible for an award.
5. At least 75% of the costume must be constructed, or heavily modified, by the contestant to be eligible for an award, except for the Judges' Award (all contestants eligible for Judges' Award.)
6. Models may be used, but awards only given to the creator of the costume. Creator must be present during the pre-judging.
7. If it goes on stage with you, it must come off stage with you.
8. Any jumping, tumbling, or stunts need to be cleared with SXSW staff prior to performance.
9. Group entries are limited to 10 people unless otherwise cleared with SXSW staff first.
10. No live steel. Nothing loaded, period. Replicas are fine, so long as they follow Federal regulations, ie: orange tips. All weapon replicas will need to be checked and approved by security prior to entering the competition.

- Only Competitive Entries will be judged.
- Non-competitive Entries will not be judged.
- Competitive entries will be assigned a time slot and will be pre-judged during that time.
- Please show up during your assigned time slot for pre-judging!
