The American Youth Association (AYA) has long been dedicated to empowering young people across the United States and providing them with opportunities for personal growth, civic engagement, and positive social impact. As we continue to expand our reach, it’s becoming increasingly important to have a more localized approach, tailored to the unique needs and contexts of each state in order to fulfill our mission. Therefore this application is solely for applicants who wish to apply to a state level position.

Here are the available positions: 

State Policy Committee: Can assist the State Policy Director with reaching out to legislators, writing legislation briefs, generating legislation ideas, etc. Responsibilities up to the discretion of the director.

State Events Committee: Responsibilities up to the discretion of the director.

State Communications Committee: Responsibilities up to the discretion of the director.

State Outreach Committee: Responsibilities up to the discretion of the director.

State Special Projects Committee: Responsibilities up to the discretion of the director.

Local Policy Director: Focuses on collaborating with local governments on local issues. And manages the Local Policy Regional Directors. This would include city or county level policies, creating local youth councils, local outreach, etc. Think of this as a grassroots position.

Local Policy Regional Director: One of the several regional directors who will focus on their own region and may have their own committees. 

State Finance Committee: Responsibilities up to the discretion of the director.
