We are gathering art that is a reflection of our lived experiences, our identities, our personal triumphs and challenges. We aim to create a snapshot of what it means to be living and breathing in this current moment.
As the election looms over us, our country faces a moment of self-reflection. Whether or not we perceive it or acknowledge it, our entire lives are politicized. Our bodies, our minds, our actions, our beliefs are all politicized. We are fractured and broken by a system that thrives on disconnecting us from each other and ourselves. And while we may feel separate from this machine in our daily lives, we’re all connected within it and therefore we must work together to change it.
DeadlineAccepting Submissions Sept. 14-Oct 14
Open to everyoneWe invite all artists to submit work. We extend an invitation to artists of color, LGBTQIA+ artists, artists hailing from other countries, undocumented artists, unhoused artists, different socioeconomic backgrounds, marginalized backgrounds or communities, etc.
CriteriaWork will be considered based on how well it fits with the theme and showcases various viewpoints and takes on the theme. A wide range of media and format (painting, installation, performance, digital, etc) will be accepted.
Compensation We are currently working to get grants to cover the cost of renting the venue so that all donations accepted at the door can be split equally amongst the artists in the show. This, of course, is contingent upon how many artists are accepted into the show, grant funding, and donation amount. However, we want to be transparent about our hope to be able to compensate artists for their time and effort.
Sell your artYou can also list your art for sale, and submit items to sell in the Gift Shop (small items, prints, t-shirts, stickers, etc.)
