2018 Chaffin Challenger Quiz Bowl Invitational February 10, 2018

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for your interest in the 2018 Chaffin Challenger to be held on February 10th, 2018 at Chaffin Junior High School in Fort Smith.

This tournament is open to advanced 5th grade Quiz Bowl players, and all 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade players.

We will have medals and gift cards for the 1st place All Stars by grade level, ribbons for top 10 All Stars, and medals for teams that place 1st-3rd in both the 6/7 Grade Division and the 8/9 Grade Division. Each player is guaranteed to play in all games.

For those entering a single player ($10 per player), a paper and buzzer test will create the 5 man teams based on levels of skill and specialties to best distribute the talent. For those entering a set team ($50 per team; recommendation to enter as a 5 man team so each child gets buzzer time all day long with the alternates on your team entering as individual players), the paper and buzzer test will simply rank order their already set team.

*Registration will begin at 8:00, with a Leaders' Meeting at 8:45.

Why a Tournament Day Camp Format?

Entering your players individually allows for smaller, partial teams to still come, gives every player the chance to practice on the buzzer all day long, yet still awards the very top players with gift cards and the top teams with medals.
Additionally, it’s a fun way to either end a spring season or to prep for the state finals. If you’d like to enter a preset team of 5 players that will stay together as a man 5 unit, please mark this option on the registration form.

Tournament camp limited to first 100 players!

*All players will play all games, regardless of their win/loss record. A scantron paper test, followed by a buzzer test, will rank order every player (this data will be sent to coaches via email). The scores will determine the balanced mixtures for the individual entry players to create their 5 player mixed teams.
