Social Distance Sculpture Workshop with Alicia Piller for High School Students (Grades 9-12 only)
This fall, join Craft Youth Culture live on Zoom with artist, Alicia Piller, for a weekly sculpture workshop series! In this series, we will be exploring sculptural design and materiality with the basics of mixed media sculpture including, but not limited to, clay, fiber, paper, metal, wood, and found objects.
This online sculpture course will connect the past to the present, utilizing a variety of mixed media materials (natural & human-made). Students will strengthen their ability to see sculpture in the every day, experimenting with structural form while considering society at large.
-Facilitated discussions and critiques about art
-Virtual artist studio visits and gallery visits
-An art supply kit with all materials and tools needed for the class
-Unlimited comped admission for you/your group to the museum
The Craft Youth Culture program meets weekly on Wednesdays from 4 - 5:30pm (some changes to the schedule may occur) from September 24, 2020 - March 28, 2021 with 23 sessions total.

Registration is currently OPEN to highly motivated high school students (9 - 12th grade), who can commit to being an active attendee of all classes (both Session 1 and Session 2).

If selected for this program, you are expected to attend all sessions. Students are accepted based on their commitment level to the program and their ability to attend sessions on a consistent basis. Students who are unable to fully commit this year will be prioritized for admission the following school year if there is continued interest on behalf of the student.
