UPDATE: CURRENTLY OVER 2,000 SIGNATURES!
Throughout their campaigns, both Governor-Elect Youngkin and Attorney General-Elect Miyares promised to oppose mandatory vaccination and vaccine passports. These positions undoubtedly played a role in their historic, come-from-behind victories.
Virginia voters have spoken: We are a state that opposes oppressive government overreach and supports medical freedom. We call on the future governor and attorney general to make good on their campaign promises and take action to protect Virginia citizens from discriminatory practices in response to their private vaccine decisions.
We, the undersigned Virginians:
Call upon Governor-elect Youngkin to issue an Executive Order immediately upon taking office to affirm that:
Mandates of Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) products are illegal under both federal and state law;
Mandates of Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) products are unethical, in violation of the Nuremberg Code and the principle of informed consent;
Discrimination against a person who asserts a religious objection, is medically exempt from vaccination, has acquired immunity to COVID-19 through previous infection, or who does not meet the ever-changing definition of “fully vaccinated” for any personal reason shall not be legal;
The payment of state monies to persons and/or entities who engage in any form of discrimination against unvaccinated or partially-vaccinated persons shall be prohibited;
And furthermore, we call upon Attorney General-elect Miyares to issue an Official Opinion immediately upon taking office to:
Affirm that any form of discrimination against a person who asserts a religious objection, has a medical exemption, or who has natural immunity is prohibited by the U.S. Constitution, the Constitution of Virginia (Article 1, Section 16), and the Virginia Human Rights Act.
