Welcome to the 2016 Summer Camp Karma Yoga request form! If you have any difficulty with this form or if you have any questions about Karma Yoga, please contact Debby at karmayoga@cfnc.us.

You will find out which shifts you have when you arrive at camp. It will be quite a project to sort through the data so PLEASE do not ask when you can see what shifts you have.

PLEASE DO review the Summer Camp schedule at http://www.cfnc.us/schedule.html before signing up so you know what scheduled activities you might be missing.

IMPORTANT: You will receive a confirmation email when your form has been received. If you don't receive an email (it should arrive within minutes), please contact me at karmayoga@cfnc.us so I can look for your response and let you know if I didn't receive it.

How many Karma Yoga Hours would you like to contribute?
For the last few years we have been offering campers an opportunity to make a Karma Yoga contribution on a sliding scale of 8-13 hours. It's been working out great, giving people a chance to do community work at a level that matches their energy and interests. Please note, however that we need an average of 10 hours of Karma Yoga per camper for camp to run smoothly. If we run short we may ask people to sign up for a few more hours at camp. Please volunteer for at least 10 if you feel you can. If you are leaving early and need to prorate your hours, please contribute the equivalent of 1 hour per day.

Meal Prep Shifts
Please select as many 1st choice and 2nd choice shifts as you can. The more you select, the more flexibility we have in giving everyone shifts they will be happy with. If you self-identify as not very competent or experienced in the kitchen, please sign up for meal CLEAN-UP shifts rather than prep shifts. Please do not sign up for shifts on the first Saturday or Sunday if this is your first time at Summer Camp East. NOTE: Please use the error column if you make a selection in a row by mistake. Are you willing to be a cleanup coordinator for your cleanup shifts?
The meal cleanup coordinator shows up 15 minutes before the meal to prepare the dishwashing stations and will manage the clean-up team during that shift. The Meal Clean-up Manager will orient you to job and the systems at the start of camp. Cleanup coordinator shifts are 30 minutes longer than regular cleanup shifts (2 hours rather than 1.5 hours for lunch and dinner shifts, 1.5 hours rather than 1 hour for breakfast shifts.)
Would you like to be assigned floater hours if available?
Floater hours are Karma Yoga hours that are available for unexpected tasks like a repair job or cleaning project, setting up a new space, driving a presenter to or from the airport, or substituting for a sick camper's kitchen shift. You can indicate your interest in floater hours below. We will ask all campers with floater hours to fill out a floater profile survey so we can get more familiar with your skills and abilities.
Would you like to be part of the young people's program team?
The young people's program serves kids of many ages who come to camp. We offer varied opportunities from kid-focused workshops, to crafts and toys to play with, to games, creek walks, swimming, and lots of free play depending on their interests and choices each day. Campers we know well and/or campers with professional experience with kids can indicate their interest below in working with the young people for their Karma Yoga contribution.
If you would like to be considered for the young people's team, please use this space to tell us about your experience working with children or teens.

All jobs will satisfy full Karma Yoga hours unless marked. Please read the descriptions of the jobs in the Karma Yoga Orientation letter and select any below that interest you. IMPORTANT: Many people may be interested in the same job(s) so YOU MUST also choose kitchen prep and meal cleanup shifts in case we are unable to meet your specific request(s) below.
