UD Running Study - Interest Survey
The Tendon Research Group at the University of Delaware (https://sites.udel.edu/pt/research/karin-gravare-silbernagel-pt-phd-atc/) is conducting a study to evaluate the effect of Achilles tendon injury on running performance.

Who can participate?
For this study, we are looking for runners with Achilles tendon injury and healthy runners. In order to participate as a healthy runner, you'll need to fit the study criteria and match the age (±5 years), sex (male/female), and average running speed (± 30 seconds/mile) of someone in the study with Achilles tendon injury.

What's included?
The study includes two sessions that are separated by 2 weeks. The first session takes about 1.5 hours and includes questionnaires, ultrasound imaging, and a clinical evaluation performed by a licensed physical therapist. The second visit takes about 2.5 hours and includes imaging techniques to determine your tendon stiffness and a 30-minute run on a treadmill while your running mechanics are analyzed with a 3D motion capture system.

Where does the study take place?
All study visits are performed in the STAR Campus building at the University of Delaware (540 S. College Ave. Newark, DE 19713)

Will I be compensated?
Yes. At the end of the second visit you will receive a $50 gift card to Amazon.com and a wearable sensor for running (Milestone Pod-- milestonepod.com), which has a value of ~$30.

How do I sign up?
The following survey will be used to determine if you fit the study criteria. If you indicate that you have Achilles tendon injury, you will be contacted by one of the study members. If you're interested to participate as a healthy runner, you will be contacted if you fit the criteria and match the age, sex and average running speed of someone in the study with Achilles tendon injury.

***If it is determined that you do NOT fit the study criteria, your responses and contact information will be deleted***

Thank you!
