Use the form to place your order for Perennial Flowers from our wide selection.  Orders place by 10:00 am, Monday-Saturday, are usually available by the end of that day, depending on availability of the items.   We will gather the items selected and then call you to confirm the order.  You can pay with your credit card and pick them up curbside.  

If you need larger sized quantities for items or have questions about availability, you can the store directly at 605-352-4414 or email at erivernursery@hur.midco.net.  

Please keep in mind that product availability will depend on inventory levels and time of year.  We cannot control product shortages that may occur, due to shipping or growing delays.

Andropogon Big Bluestem- A native of the Midwestern tallgrass prairie, Big Bluestem is warm season grass with ornamental quailities fit for the garden and landscape. The remarkable foliage changes color from green to blue-green in summer, to a deep red-bronze in the fall.  3' wide x 6-8' tall
Andropogon Big Bluestem Blackhawks- A dramatic vertical accent that changes color throughout the growing season. Foliage emerges green, then develops red-bronze hues towards the tips in summer. The color continues to darken to deep purple until almost black in fall. Purple plumes appear in late summer.  2' Wide x 6-8' tall
Calamagrostis Brachytricha Korean Feather Reed-Feathery, pink-tinged plumes appear atop tall stems, rising above the foliage of this showy ornamental grass, maturing in fall to light tan and cream. Seeds provide food for birds. Effective accent or mass planting. Performs well in a variety of garden settings, even moist borders of a stream or pond.  3'x3'
Calamagrostis Feather Reed Grass Karl Foerster-‘Karl Foerster’ is the most popular of the hybrid feather reed grasses sold in commerce today. It is noted for its narrow-vertical growth of bright green leaves to 3’ tall and 2’ wide and feathery plumes of summer-blooming pink to purple tinged flowers on narrow upright stalks rising well above the foliage to 5’ tall. 2001 Perennial Plant of the Year Award. Zone 4
Erianthus Hardy Pampas Grass-Since we cannot grow the color pampas grass in South Dakota, this is a good substitute if you are looking for a standout specimen in the border.  One of the loveliest ornamental grasses, superb as an architectural specimen or large accent. Foliage has a clumping habit; plant in groups to create a screen or windbreak. Long, showy, silvery white, silky plumes have gorgeous autumn coloring, persist into winter, and are superb in fresh or dried floral arrangements.  Can get 10-12' tall and 3' wide.  Zone 4
Festuca Elijah Blue- Regarded by some as the bluest blue fescue, this plant forms compact, cascading mounds of foot-tall, intensely blue, narrow leaves that are attractive in all seasons. Blooms are generally secondary to the foliage, but this cultivar blooms more heavily than most, with spikelets in summer.  12" x12"

Miscanthus purpurescens Flame Grass-Slightly gray-green blades in summer turn brilliant red-orange in fall. Attractive coloring lasting through the winter. Mauve-colored feathery plumes rise above the foliage. A focal point for borders and containers. Compact, upright clumps 3 to 4 ft. tall and wide; flower stalks 5 to 6 ft. tall.  Zone 4

Miscanthus strictus Porcupine Grass-A more upright form to this improved habit;  Green foliage is highlighted by dramatic horizontal golden bands. Reddish bronze plumes rise above the foliage in summer. Works well for use as a single specimen or in groupings.  3' wide x 8' tall
Miscanthus sinensis Japanese Silver Variegated Grass-A gracefully arching ornamental grass, with gorgeous dark green blades highlighted by creamy white stripes. Shimmery, silver-white plumes dance atop the foliage mound in the fall. A great choice for textural contrast in perennial or shrub beds.   Moderate growing; reaches 6 ft. tall, 3 to 5 ft. wide. Zone 4

Miscanthus sinensis Morning Light Maiden Grass-Dense clumps of slender, green blades with creamy white margins and midveins that create a shimmering silvery appearance. A superb grass that adds visual excitement wherever used. Reddish inflorescences that persist through winter provide an interesting accent to bare winterscapes. Wonderful texture for beds and borders. Forms clumps 5 ft. tall, 3 to 4 ft. wide; plumes reach 6 ft. tall. Zone 5

Panicum Heavy metal Switch Grass-Stiff, metallic blue blades distinguish this carefree native grass from others. Retains vertical form without flopping, topped by airy, pink-tinged panicles in summer. Brilliant foliage in fall. Attractive seed heads provide winter food for birds. Withstands seasonal flooding, yet drought tolerant when established.  3' x 3'
Panicum virgatum Shenandoah Switch Grass-Prized for its unmatched foliage color, this handsome grass has fast growing green leaves that emerge with red tips in spring, darken through summer, and turn a rich burgundy in fall. Airy reddish pink flowers develop in summer. Use for mass background plantings or in containers (not winter hardy in container). Fast growing; reaches 4 ft. tall, 2 to 3 ft. wide, in bloom.  Zone 4

Schizachyrium scoparium Blue Heaven Little Bluestem Grass-BLUE HEAVEN® has a taller, more upright habit that does not tend to flop like the species. In the summer, the foliage color is a brighter steel blue color with purple highlights, looking almost iridescent up close.  From late summer through early fall, glossy purple panicles appear with fluffy tan seeds attached.The fall color is also improved over the species, including a mix of purple, blue, red, pink, burgundy, and orange pigments. This color persists into mid-fall, after which snow typically arrives in the Midwest.Schizachyrium is a great choice if you are looking to restore an eroded site, or for a plant that will grow in hot, dry areas where other plants have a hard time surviving. 4' x 3'.  Zone 3

Schizachyrium scoparium Smoke Signal Little Bluestem-a warm season perennial grass that puts on a wonderful color show, turning from blue-green to deep red and purple in the summer and fall. Schizachyrium 'Smoke Signal' maintains its upright habit throughout the season.  4' x 2'
Sporobolus Prairie Dropseed Grass-A fine-textured grass for the landscape with tall, slender stalks that display airy, remarkably fragrant, light brown, late summer panicles. Dense, mounded foliage turns deep copper-gold in fall. Attractive accent, or easy care groundcover, if planted en masse. Long-lived and trouble free. Rarely self-seed.  Slowly reaches 1 1/2 ft. tall, 2 to 3 ft. wide; 3 ft. tall in bloom.  Zone 3
