BMRC Collection Diversification & Community Engagement Panel Registration Form
Use this form to register for the Black Metropolis Research Consortium's Collection Diversification and Community Engagement Panel, the first event of a four-part series. Featuring representatives from some of our very own member institutions, this panel will explore the many challenges that institutional and community archives face when trying to engage their community. Often, these challenges are a result of long-standing issues with trust between an institution and the community it affects. While revising connections between an institution and the neighborhoods, organizations, and people that surround it is critical, archival repositories have a unique place in this revision as stewards of historical documentation. The panelists for this event have engaged their communities by building trust and creating long-lasting relationships. From collection strategies to community workshops to exhibition outreach, these panelists have worked hard to ensure that their archives work with, and not against, their community. Register here to tune in and learn more!
This panel will be held virtually on Zoom. You will receive a link to register directly from Zoom two weeks prior to the event date, as well as reminders to download Zoom on your device and mark your calendars closer to the day of the event.
Panel date and time: November 19th, 2020 from 2pm - 3pm CST
