4D Modeling of BIM Projects Survey

A 4D model is the result of the connection between a BIM / 3D model and a work schedule. The purpose of this questionnaire is to assess the usefulness and acceptability of this technology for construction trades.

If you agree to contribute to this work, please answer the questions below, it will only take you about 15 minutes. We thank you in advance for your participation and we assure you that all the data collected individually will remain confidential.

The results will be addressed in the 4DCollab research (http://www.4dcollab-project.eu), and the synthesis will be communicated.

What is 4D ?
To build a 4D model, the components (or groups of components) of the BIM / 3D model are linked to the tasks of the planning, which allows to generate an "animated" visualization of the construction. The main utility of a 4D model lies in a greater visualization of the planning of a project but many other uses can result. The video below gives examples of 4D animations (Source: Visual5d).
Structure of the questionnaire
The first part of the questionnaire evaluates the value of six uses identified with this technology.
The second part of the questionnaire examines the perception of professionals in relation to 4D modeling.

Questions marked with a red asterisk are mandatory, others are optional.
