With great appreciation to the Pablo Foundation for an arts grant, the Eau Claire Public Arts Council (ECPAC) invites all BIPOC artists 16 years of age or older that reside in the Chippewa Valley to submit work that represents their artistic style that explores and celebrates their identity. The intent is to bring a message of art, culture, and recognition to celebrate the BIPOC artists and multicultural communities throughout the Chippewa Valley. This call for work will result in the artwork of 12 artists who will be jury selected and featured in a group online exhibition. Artists that are selected will each receive a $500 stipend for reproduction rights and publication rights for their artwork. Artwork will also be displayed in our region on local buses in the form of 'visual wraps', as well as on printed calendars and postcards for sale throughout the community.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
This Call for Artist Submissions recognizes that art often serves as an important and engaging tool for social justice, and that 2020 has demonstrated the importance of continued engagement on anti-racism in the Chippewa Valley. As such, this Call prioritizes Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) artists/art collectives from the Chippewa Valley.
Artist(s) Must be 16 years of age or older and live in the Chippewa Valley
Each participant may submit up to 3 entries
Artwork can be (illustration, graphic, sculpture, photography, printmaking, drawing, painting, conceptual, textile, folk art, etc.) You will only be submitting images of this work, not the original/physical work itself.
Submissions must be original works of art made by the artist within the last 2 years.
All entries must be submitted as jpegs and a minimum of 300 dpi.
Please submit as attachments by email only (no file transfer links to download please) to

SUBMISSION CHECKLIST
1. Entry Form – please read Entry Form thoroughly and complete.
2. Please submit up to 3 images of artwork you have created in the last two years– for consideration as attachments by email only (no file transfer links to download please) to
ecpac@gmail.com to a maximum of 10 MB total.
3. Image files should have a file name of your First Name, Last Name, Title of Artwork and Image number. (Example: AndreaAveryReflection_Image1.jpg) .
ABOUT THE SELECTION PROCESS
Works that fit the concept and other requirements listed here will be accepted and considered. Final determination of what is included in the online exhibition is at the discretion of the review committee.
Stage 1 – Request for Proposals
Proposals are due on Sunday, September 26, 2021.
Stage 2 – Selection Process
After the proposals have been received, a review committee will assess all submissions received. The review committee will include: BIPOC community members and representatives from the Eau Claire Public Arts Council.
At this stage, artists may also be contacted for further clarification and/or consult with representatives from Eau Claire Public Arts Council to discuss their design for the artwork.
Stage 3 – Award
There will be 12 pieces selected. Each will be awarded a $500 artist stipend for the rights to use and reproduce their image for display purposes as well as for the publication and sales of postcards and calendars.
The profit made from the postcards and calendars will go back to the Eau Claire Public Arts Council to further our mission to be a champion for the power of public art to inspire social and personal change. We aim to foster equity diversity and inclusion in our community, and support the work of visual artists.
DISPLAY
All entries will be published in an online exhibition, printed for Bus Wraps for Public Transit Busses and for publication of calendar and postcards. You will need to have high resolution scans/photographs of your artwork for printing/publications. Or you must have access to physical artwork so that photos/scans can be taken.
