Angst Screening and Panel Discussion at Friends Select School
On Tuesday, October 2, Friends Select is hosting a free screening of Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety, followed by a panel discussion. Angst is a 56-minute documentary created by IndieFlix that explores the multilayered effects of anxiety on our society. The 2017 film features interviews with children and teenagers, mental health professionals, and Michael Phelps, a mental health advocate and the most decorated Olympic athlete of all time, in an effort to spark a dialogue about anxiety. The screening is part of our second annual Wellness Program, a year-long campaign to engage the Friends Select community and the public about mental health issues.

Following the screening there will be a panel discussion with Dr. Manely Ghaffari, a psychiatrist and FSS parent, and Dr. Deborah Ledley, a psychologist, which will be moderated by our school psychologist, Dr. Natan Gottesman.

The screening will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Blauvelt Theatre. Light refreshments will be served.

This programming is being made possible by an anonymous Friends Select family.
