BCAM Summer Enrichment Programs
These are various enrichment/extra-curricular programs offered to BCAM students on specific days or weeks this summer. These are not summer school classes! These are great enrichment programs to enhance your summer experience. These are in person, in our building and via fields trips. THEY ARE NOT REMOTE/VIRTUAL VIA ZOOM.

You may select one program for each session. HOWEVER, PLEASE ONLY SELECT ONE PROGRAM FOR THE SAME SESSION! (For example, selection only one program for Session 2...) Dates TBD; 2 WEEKS, Monday-Friday in July or August (Finalizing confirmation with professional muralists): Outdoor Mural Project on Our School Building Wall with Community Muralists. Through this partnership between BCAM & MoCADA Art Museum, students will create a huge, permanent, inspirational mural to serve a backdrop for our soon-to-be upgraded new outdoor basketball court and green space.

Tuesdays & Thursdays for 3 Weeks- 10am-12pm, Beginning Tuesday, July 13. Boxing Training to Fight Against Gun Violence with BCAM graduate Arnold Ludd and a professional boxing trainer. Through this partnership between BCAM and Inspiring Minds Community Organization, students will work out and gain boxing skills, while also joining the movement to stop gun violence.

SESSION 1 Tues, Wed, Thurs- July 13, 14, 15: Mind, Body, Soul Fitness with Mr. Bullock. This multi-dimensional fitness program has students experience a variety of fitness related activities for overall health & wellness, including strength training, full body exercises, nature walk, easy runs, flexibility, stretching, meditation.

SESSION 2 Tues, Wed, Thurs- July 27, 28, 29 Fitness with Mr. Hunter. BCAM fitness and walking will be traveling to various points in NYC and getting fit while walking in the process. Students will go to prospect park, Coney Island boardwalk, Hudson River park and Central Park. Walking is a great way to get exercise and see parts of the city you may have never been. Students should bring a bottle of water and something to eat or money to buy something.

SESSION 2 Tues, Wed, Thurs- July 27, 28, 29 Studying Animal Behavior via a field trip to the Bx. Zoo with Ms. Lafemina. This program will have students select animals of interest and inquire into their behaviors and patterns in their natural and zoo environments.

SESSION 2 (5 DAYS) Mon, Tues, Wed, Thur, Friday- July 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 Intensive digital design and photography program with Ms. Herbes. This program has students take personal and theme-based pictures, and then develop them in design format, to be exhibited publicly.

SESSION 3 Tues, Wed, Thur- Aug 10, 11, 12 Experiencing Chinese Culture & History with Ms. Fan. This program includes a field trip to the Met to view Chinese art works; a field trip to Chinatown to visit a Chinese temple and eat at a Chinese restaurant; and in-building work on a hand-craft project with Chinese calligraphy.

SESSION 4 Tues, Wed, Thurs August 24, 25, 26 Studying financial literacy with Mr. Lombard. This program will have students study financial institutions and concepts (liabilities, credit, debt, etc); have them create a budget and simulate real life budgetary situations; research job/career options; and then experience the stock market and investing.
