Red Bug Cross Country Running Club
Red Bug Runners Club is open to all students grades K-5 that are interested in becoming better runners.  Practice consists of students running cross-country laps to improve speed and endurance. At this time we have three tentative race dates and hope to add more. These dates are December 3, 2022, December 10, 2022, and February 4, 2023. Students are separated into girls and boys and race against others in their age group. The top 15 finishers in each age group earn a medal. The rest get a participation ribbon.

*Practice will begin on Tuesday October 18, 2022, and will conclude on March 9, 2023.  We will practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 7:20-7:50am. When students arrive at school they may enter through the gate by the cafeteria and walk to the pavilion/PE area. Students will be dismissed from practice at the first bell and will be sent directly to class. STUDENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON CAMPUS BEFORE 7:20AM AND SHOULD NOT BE DROPPED OFF BEFORE THEN. Students do not have to be car riders to participate, they may come out to run after they arrive on campus.

*Expectations at practice are the same as in P.E. class. B.U.G.S. behavior is expected at all times. Students must follow the rules or will be asked to leave. We will notify you if that should occur.

Students that eat breakfast at school will not have time to get breakfast at 7:50 when we dismiss. I suggest eating in the restaurant prior to coming out to runner's club. Food is NOT permitted to leave the restaurant.

Regular communications will be sent via email about races, inclement weather etc.  Feel free to email or with any questions.

Our goal is for students to have fun, improve their running fitness, and learn good sportsmanship!
