Footsteps Membership 2021-2022
Join Footsteps for the 2021-2022 school year!

We are a Christian, Member-run homeschool support group in South West Raleigh/Cary/Apex. We provide encouragement and support for our members through fellowship, prayer, and assistance. Our activities include field trips, park days, extra-curricular functions and moms' meetings. Membership is not capped. We are open to preschool through high school homeschooling.

We are so grateful to each member who joins and helps to plan events. As a field trip group, we want this to be a fun and educational community! When registering you will be required to sign up to host or help with one event (virtual or in person, making sure to follow state rules and local ordinances). The more active each member is, the better our group will be.

****Notes****
-- Our goal is to create a safe, fun, and supportive environment for all of our members. As our group continues to grow and we are easing out of  the pandemic, we are anticipating many more opportunities and activities. In light of the increased connections and gatherings, and in order to protect all of our families, we will be purchasing general liability insurance. Having insurance will help to protect our members and our group. In order to afford insurance, our dues will be increased this year to $35 per family for the entire school year. 100% of the dues go to improve and enrich our group through insurance and events. We’re excited to be in this together and are looking forward to an active, vibrant, and supportive community!
-- We understand some families are in a difficult place financially, particularly after a tough pandemic year. We will have options on the registration form for members who would like to contribute to a member scholarship fund, in order to support members who may not be able to afford the dues.
-- The majority of our dues will be going towards insurance, so be on the lookout for some exciting fundraising to support upcoming events (Footsteps T-Shirts on the horizon!)
-- We are a group run by members, so the more active the members, the more active the group will be! On the form you will be asked to sign up for one event/field trip/club, but if you’re inspired to set up something extra - please do!

All members have until September 1st to fill out the form. Anyone who has not completed the form by that date will be removed from the Facebook Group. Anyone is welcome to re-join at any time in the school year.

I will plan the following: (This means I will be responsible for leading or co-leading this event and when appropriate, will ask others to assist) Requirement: *At least* one event per year, except in special circumstances. (Note: some events such as parties will have 2-3 planners plus a budget and are the only events pre-approved for Peace Church use - all other events at Peace must be approved through the Footsteps liason chair). Unlimited numbers of field trips and other events during the year. Legacy member or members who have a baby under 1 year old are not required to plan an event.  We will be following state  COVID guidelines for events.

READ CAREFULLY - THIS AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS

In exchange for participation in the activity of Footsteps Homeschool Group Activities organized by Footsteps Homeschool Group, of 232 Dutchess Dr, Cary, North Carolina, 27513 and/or use of the property, facilities and services of Footsteps Homeschool Group, I agree for myself and (if applicable) for the members of my family, to the following:

1. AGREEMENT TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. I agree to observe and obey all posted rules and warnings, and further agree to follow any oral instructions or directions given by Footsteps Homeschool Group, or the employees, representatives or agents of Footsteps Homeschool Group.

2. ASSUMPTION OF THE RISKS AND RELEASE. I recognize that there are certain inherent risks associated with the above described activity and I assume full responsibility for personal injury to myself and (if applicable) my family members, and further release and discharge Footsteps Homeschool Group for injury, loss or damage arising out of my or my family's use of or presence upon the facilities of Footsteps Homeschool Group, whether caused by the fault of myself, my family, Footsteps Homeschool Group or other third parties.

3. INDEMNIFICATION. I agree to indemnify and defend Footsteps Homeschool Group against all claims, causes of action, damages, judgments, costs or expenses, including attorney fees and other litigation costs, which may in any way arise from my or my family's use of or presence upon the facilities of Footsteps Homeschool Group.
