2024 Swain County Fair: Battle of the Bands Entry Form

Announcing the Swain County Agricultural Fair “Battle of the Bands,” a four-hour music contest at the Great Smoky Mountains Event Park on Saturday, August 24, 2024 beginning at 11:30 a.m. The Battle of the Bands will feature six bands who are finalists competing for prize money.

More About the Contest

Bands must have a minimum of 3 members and be in one of the following music genres: Country, Bluegrass, Gospel, Americana, Southern Rock.

Bands who are interested in competing to be a finalist must submit an application (with links to 2 videos of the band's pre-recorded or live performances) to the Swain County Agricultural Fair on or before May 31, 2024. The demo should include 2 original/covered songs.  

Five (5) judges will review the entries and select 6 bands who will compete in the Battle of the Bands. Finalists will be notified by June 5, 2024.

The top 3 bands will be awarded prize money:  First Place - $1,500, Second Place - $1,000, Third Place - $500. The first place winner must be able to commit to a live set at 6:00 p.m. and will be showcased as the opening band for Catie Offerman, who is gaining a reputation as one of Nashville’s most skilled players and promising traditionalist.
