Funding Our Own Liberation: May 11th Grassroots Fundraising for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color
Building collective power, raise money, and leverage those funds to sustain movements is crucial to liberatory work.  However, there are many systemic barriers to economic access for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). Whether you're new to fundraising, experienced but need a reboot or refresher, or are in the middle of a fundraising campaign right now, this workshop will be a great way to dig into those issues with others in the BIPOC community.
Together, we’ll strengthen our skills as storytellers, fundraisers, and agents for change within our communities.

WHEN: Saturday, May 11th, 9am-12pm
WHERE: Centilia Cultural Center – 1660 S Roberto Maestas Festival St, Seattle, WA 98144
COST: Free

ACCESS:
Lunch will be provided. Childcare available on request by April 26th.  The space is wheelchair accessible. Please limit scents and fragrances.  List any access needs you have.  This event is for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color only.* Feel free to invite friends who identify as people of color and are interested in Grassroots Fundraising.

*Why is this event for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) only? We know that many spaces in our society (and in Seattle in particular) are overwhelmingly white, and sometimes a BIPOC-only space can be an affirming and strengthening experience. White allies, thanks for understanding the need for this BIPOC space. For white folks who have questions or would like to organize with other white people, please contact Rebecca Allen at rebecca@socialjusticefund.org.
