Call for Event Volunteers

Call for Volunteers to support the Flow & Flourish: Reimagining Chinatown Streets event! 

Join East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC), the City of Oakland’s Department of Transportation, Sticky Rice Club, and Oakland Bloom for a creative and interactive event in Oakland’s Chinatown. We’re transforming the streets to test design ideas that create safer and more inclusive streets, sidewalks, and spaces celebrating Chinatown’s rich culture and history! Expect music, vendors, art, healing spaces, interactive “Complete Streets” displays, and more! The results of this event will influence OakDOT's Chinatown Complete Streets Plan. 

Volunteer Support Needed:

  • Cantonese and/or Mandarin discussion facilitators/ translation
  • Event set up & break down 
  • Set up interactive art/ temporary transportation installations
  • Welcome and info table
  • Waste management/ security/ traffic control

Volunteers will receive food and drinks!

When: Saturday, November 16th, 8 am - 8 pm

Location: 9th & 10th Streets between Harrison and Webster in Oakland’s Chinatown
