Jason’s talk will focus on the hairy-nosed otter, covering what was known historically and what we know as of 2026 from field studies, scientific research, published literature, and the species' current and historical ex-situ status. It will highlight the need for improved rescue, rehabilitation, and husbandry practices for the species, as well as the direct impacts of the illegal pet trade.
