For students grade 9th -12th
The Old Fire House's Youth Advisory Board & Advocacy (YABA) continues Redmond's tradition of youth advocating for positive change, and serving their community. YABA members help create positive experiences for Redmond teens by organizing a wide range of events, from the SnowBall toy drive concert, Laugh On comedy night and our huge signature Summer Time Radness year end party to smaller activities like 3-on-3 basketball tourneys, paint along to Bob Ross night, and Homecoming game tie-dye parties!
Past YABA members have all credited their involvement in YABA as a key component in the development of their leadership, organizational and outreach skills, which helped propel them on to attend places like Columbia, NYU, Wellesley, UW, Evergreen, and WSU to name a few.
YABA is for people that like to make fun happen, and is more than just a way to impress colleges- it’s a way to make the most of your high school years.
Details: YABA meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month 6pm -7:30pm.
Each month members are asked to organize 1 event in addition to attending one other YABA lead activity. Hours spent at meetings and organizing events count towards their community service hours. Time commitment ranges from 2 to 6 hours a week depending on what’s going on.
