ACCEPTING NEW GRANTS JANUARY 1, 2026.
Greco-Roman civilization has shaped the foundations of our modern world, giving us democracy, the rule of law, individual rights, freedom of speech, art, architecture, engineering, and urban planning. Yet, despite its profound influence, there is still much to uncover about its rich history and lasting contributions. Protecting, restoring, and promoting this heritage is essential to ensuring its legacy endures for future generations.
The Expandere Conscientiae Lumen grant provides essential funding for projects that enhance our understanding and appreciation of Greco-Roman culture. It supports initiatives led by archaeologists, university researchers, academics, architects, computer scientists, museums, conservators, and cultural heritage professionals. If you are working on a non-profit project that aligns with these goals, we encourage you to apply. Note, the grant does not support individual research nor doctoral dissertation research.
Please note, the grant generally does not fund indirect costs for universities, governmental entities, fiscal sponsors, or for organizations that are not public charities.
It is expected that grant recipients periodically share their progress publicly with Ancient Rome Live on its social media and learning platforms for the creation of educational content.
