Performers who are cast in the show will receive an email with instructions to enroll in Dance Performance. To participate in the show, you must enroll in the class prior to the first rehearsal. Should you be invited to join us, please reply to the email within 24 hours to accept your role.
Auditions will be held on August 21.
Dancer
Auditions will be Tuesday, August 19 at 5pm in
the Dance Studio
Dancers should come prepared to move.
Poet/Speaking
Role Auditions will be Tuesday, August 19 at 6pm
in the Dance Studio.
Those auditioning for a speaking role
should come prepared to present their favorite poem as a monologue.
Singer
Auditions will be Tuesday, August 19 at 6:30pm
in MU2.
Singers, please prepare a 1–2 minute song in any
genre you feel most comfortable with. We welcome singers of all backgrounds and
encourage you to choose a piece that best shows your voice and artistry.
This project will draw inspiration from a wide range of styles, including:
· Classical
art song (e.g., Schubert, Fauré, Guastavino)
· Opera
and zarzuela (e.g., Puccini, Sorozábal, Chueca)
· Musical
theatre (e.g., Rodgers & Hammerstein, Sondheim)
· Contemporary
songs from folk, jazz, or popular styles
You are welcome to sing in English, Spanish, or any language. An accompanist
will be provided (bring sheet music) or you may sing unaccompanied.
The full cast (dancers, singers,
actors) will need to enroll in DAN150 Dance Performance, which is the class we
use for our dance shows.
All are welcome to audition. Our
rehearsals take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the 5pm - 8pm
block. The show is November 21 and 22.
