Rocketfest Film & Photograph Submission Form 
Rocketfest is a youth film festival and photography exhibit for public high school students across Philadelphia organized by SLA Center City students. 

This is the 2nd year of our festival, and we thank you for your support!! 

The films that will be screened and exhibited photographs will be selected by judging panel made up of film students and professional filmmakers. Films and photographs announced as winners will be rewarded with money prizes.  
  
Applicant Eligibility
All current Philadelphia public high school students (grades 9 -12) are eligible to submit. Students do not need to be part of a formal video production course. Students may submit completely independent of any school-related projects or programs.  

Submission Requirements: 

FILM SUBMISSIONS:
  • Films must be fully student produced. Teachers/adults may play minimal acting roles and may contribute to production, however, the vast majority of the film must be produced solely by high school students.
  • Films should have been produced and edited within the last 18 months. And students who submit their films must still be high school students.
  • Films must be 1 minute at minimum and 10 minutes at maximum. Films under 1 minute and over 10 minutes will not be eligible for inclusion in the festival. 
  • Export films at this setting - 1080P - as an .mov or .mp4 file. No other formats will be accepted.
PHOTOGRAPH SUBMISSIONS:
  • Photographs must be produced by students.
  • Photographs -if possible- should be exported at this setting- TIFF or PNG.
  • Photographs must have been taken within the last 18 months.
  • Applicants are allowed to submit up to 5 photographs (be aware that all 5 photographs may not be included in the exhibit)

Screening Details
The Rocketfest Philly Youth Film Festival will be held at The Parkway Central Library on Vine St. on Wednesday, May 1st from 9am-8pm. Every Philadelphia public high school will receive tickets to attend and vote for their favorite films. We will have a special evening screening open to the public, with a keynote speaker. 

Photography exhibit will be up in the library from May 1st till June 6th.
